Sangeet Bhaban

At his institute Sangeet Bhaban he has been training students across all ages in Indian classical vocal, mainly Khayal and Harmonium for over 17 years. The institutes are present in Kolkata and Howrah. He is also a stage groomer and has successfully helped many, convert their learning into delivering worthy performances on stage. He takes Vocal and Harmonium classes across the globe (America, Europe, Australia, Japan etc.) and also conduct regular workshops.

His goal is to assimilate Indian classical music into our daily lives. To reconnect our detached selves back to our rich musical heritage, not in a rigorous way but in an innovative and flexible manner.

At his institute small concerts are held every month where all students perform in rotation. This is to done to encourage them to be more free and courageous while performing by giving them a practical feel of an onstage performance. It is also an excellent opportunity for evaluation.

Other than music, the students engage in several extracurricular, creative activities. Pursuing classical music is a commitment. These breaks can serve as a much needed boost in solidifying this commitment in the long run………. says Purbachal.
